Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment was an early distributor of VHS tapes. The company started distributing VHS tapes in 1979 and released VHS tapes under this specific brand/name (Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment) until 1982. Afterwards, VHS tapes were released under the names: RCA Columbia Pictures International (1981-1991), RCA Columbia Pictures Home Video (1982-1991), and Columbia Tristar Home Video (Ent.) (1991-2001).
