SCREENPLAY – MAJOR SOANE
“MAJOR SOANE” is a screenplay I wrote and adapted from the book “TO MESOPOTAMIA AND KURDISTAN IN DISGUISE”, written by ELY BANNISTER SOANE and originally published in 1912.
Ely Bannister Soane, or Major Soane, was a British officer who, disguised as a Persian Muslim, traveled through Mesopotamia and Kurdistan to learn about and live among the Kurdish people. His book details his extraordinary (yet little known) epic adventure – an epic adventure that deserves to be seen!

This was my first-ever attempt at a screenplay. I have tried to follow the rules as best as I could, but I am certain there is plenty of room for improvement. For instance, I know that the screenplay is too long. But I am also confident it could be narrowed down fairly easily. In short, I am not satisfied with the screenplay as it is right now, but I am publishing it anyway because I hope someone more experienced finds it interesting enough to review it and provide some valuable feedback. I am also open to meeting up in person to talk about this or one of my other (17) screenplay ideas!
